Well I've done some research. Amtrak is looking more and more likely, and the more people I get to go with me, the higher the discount. If I can get twenty people to go along, we'll get like a 20% discount. Interested? Let me know. We'll al get to ride together too! yay. ok. Let me know!

Now, would this be to take a train somewhere, say... AC, or just to take a train for sake of getting on a train? It's certainly a more social method of a sort, you'd get to choose where to sit, and there may even be tables or food, depending on what kind of train it is, I think. Well, I actually have no idea, seeing how I've never been on one. So I could use an excuse.
So as I said, Where to?

Hey, we actually have four different people who've commented in this thread! Counting the original poster, but still....
Twenty people is quite a few though. Depending on the destination, it may be limited to pretty much whoever's on the board and is free that day (assuming we all even go). Still, an excuse to travel is an excuse.
Depending on the destination, we can always just invite random people to ride with us. But that gets strange after a while. If not immediately. It all depends on the where, and the when.
Now if only there was a fox-car...

She is talking about a train from philly to to pittsburg or wherever it is they're hosting AC this summer. It'd be cheaper than renting taxi's and cheaper than the gas and parking garage prices combined in the end.

Sounds like a good idea.
Hopefully I will have some money saved up by summer that I can go to AC...
As for hotels, anyone considering rooming together? If we get a list of who wants to go as a group, I can look up some hotel prices and see what will be the most cost-efficient.
Also- if we go as a group, maybe we should make shirts? Furst State Forums shirts would be awesome.... ^_^ I'd also be willing to help with that, whether it's designing or making.

furst state shirts would be coooool! i am hoping to be able to make it to ac, but i'm also trying to move out of my parents' house by march or so, so...it will be tough. regardless, i think trying to room together as a big bunch of delaware furs and having shirts and stuff would be pretty cool. do any of you guys fursuit? i don't, but i'm just curious.

I will be a 'suiter eventually, but right now all I've got is my fox-girl halloween costume. I'm holding off building my suit until I get a sewing machine and after I move out of my mom's house so I don't have to attempt to explain it to my mom. I don't she would care about the idea so much as the fact that I would be "wasting" money and energy making a fursuit.
I'll try and doodle up some designs tonight and tomorrow and get them online. Prelim sketches will be in B&W, and the final will depend on how we make them. What color should the shirt fabric be? I'm not overly fond of plain white, so perhaps classic black or maybe a tie-dye?
If we opt to make the shirts before normal HS lets out, I might see about asking Polytech's Visual Communications shop to make the shirts if Mr. McMullen still runs the T-Shirt shop. I know they did them when I was there, but I don't know if any of the new seniors picked it up.
There is also the Printmaking 'shop' here at Wilson, and I know that we've made shirts before (with my design! ^_^), but I'm not sure how much it will cost for ink and whatnot.
The last option is to get a bunch of inkjet iron-on transfers, but I don't know how durable they are. I've seen them for both white and colored/black shirts.
About how many should we make? I was thinking maybe two per fur going so we can wear them on more than one day without them being icky, with extras for either new members that come in or for those of us (like myself) that are complete klutzes and tend to go through shirts rather quickly. So, maybe 15-20?

Wow! I am so sorry to have waited this long to post, but yes, it is to the Con, from Philly. I, personally, along with Sontock and Chibi, are leaving on the 14th. yay. Anyhoo, we are looking for roomers! We have a double bed room for 15-19 so just let me know!

A train to AC.... If it's an excuse to sit with a group of furs, relax, possibly have enough room to actually do something (a game, perhaps), and not actually have to drive - It depends on the cost. But yeah, if a group is going, I'll probably find an excuse to tag along. Might even drag along the weasel.
A good thing you already have your room reserved - they're filling up quickly at this point...
