Y'all have been warned.
I went and saw Over The Hedge and X3 at the Drive-in movie place down past Woodside with my best friend. She really wanted to see OTH, and I wanted to see X3. I'm a big X-Men fan and I roleplay online with a ton of other fans and I've read/researched enough that I know a good amount about the universe, although I'm far from an expert.
My big peeves:
They killed Scott Summers - This is my biggest OMGWTFBBQ?!?!?! moment, and the plotkiller for me. Scott was supposed to rescue Jean, not Logan! Not to mention the fact that it seriously cut short all of James Marsden's screentime. Scott's one of my favorite X-characters, so I'm marjorly pissed about them killing him.
Multiple Man as an Acolyte- They put him on the wrong damn team. WTF?
The Phoenix - It's not some split-off of Jean's personality. It is a cosmic entity that's up somewhere near or at god(dess)-status. It's powerful enough to bend time and reality itself to its will. Powers they got right, but where was the fiery form? It showed up once- in X2. Again, WTF?
Quicksilver- Should have been there, but wasn't. Instead, he was tossed in with another mutant (whose name I can't remember) and then turned into a girl. Apparently Marvel has a thing for transgendering/genderswitching. Both original mutants were male. The combo was a girl. I'm all for the X-chromosome, but dammit I need my Y-chromosome eyecandy!
Piotr Rasputin (Colossus) - "Pete" just didn't cut it for me. There was no accent! He's supposed to be Russian, not American..... gah!
Professor Xavier - Again, another death that never fucking happens in the actual Phoenix Saga. W.T.F.?
The Plot in general - What were they smoking? I mean, seriously, how hard is it to follow comic-canon when it's been outlined millions of times on millions of X-Men fansites?
That's the main points, at least... I'm still fucking pissed. Although I hear more are planned, I've also heard that Hugh Jackman is refusing to sign on as Logan in any more movies. Which means he has more brains than all of Marvel put together.
