I've recently returned from a small convention thingy. A Megaplex. And it was fun. It's also given me ideas about what we can do with this thingy. Namely, we need a place, and a time. Or a series of times would be even better. But once we have those, we could all meet up at these preset dates and fun and such. Doing what, you ask? *grins* Art sessions (talented or otherwise) Video games (Requires games/systems/monitors or a nearby arcade) Board/card games (requires games/playing area) Food (requires supplies-cooking skills or a restuarant type palce) Movies (requires movies/television or On-Demand thingy) And socialization in general. Add ideas to the list if you can think of any. They've already got this sorta thing going in both PA and NJ. No reason we couldn't as well.

I can run art stuff. I'd have to charge for supplies, but I would be able to do whatever....
Video game systems: I have a PS2 I can lend with 1 controller (and controller extender) and 1 DDR foam mat. Not much for group games, though, unless someone gets/brings another DDR mat. Board/Card games: I can bring Apples To Apples and Jenga. With a few decks of cards I can teach everyone Mau.
I'm pretty decent at cooking, too. I'd need a list of food preferences and allergies, though. I'm best at deserts but I can make meal-stuff, too. Although, it would probably be best to either get takeout or go as a group to a restaurant.
The PS2 can play DVDs/CDs, so movies/music can be run through it. Although, OnDemand would be better.
I can't really offer anything for places, since somehow I doubt my parents would like it if I threw a party-thing of a bunch of people "I've never met"... although we've thrown parties in the garage before. Perhaps a neutral place, like renting a conference room at a hotel like the Sheraton? They would then also, most likely, be able to provide some sort of TV or projector screen for us to use.
Sounds like fun, though! I'll be done college near the end of May, so some time after that. June, perhaps? Then we could also opt to have a picnic/barbeque at a park somewhere.

I like the idea of rentinng a place. Only problem is that costs money. And there's not nearly enough of us for that sort of thing (Actually, let me check what costs might be on that - I'll get back to that point).
I ...might be able to swing a PS2 by as well, no chance on a monitor, a really cheap dance pad, three controllers (one wireless), enough art supplies to kill a man, several board game things, and nothing in the way of movies. As for food.... either catering, potluck, or just order pizza, I guess.
A nuetral meeting ground would be good. What'd help is some place with free space or such, free or otherwise. Lower the cost, the more often we could do this.
Now if only someone had a large spacious apartment this sort of thing could be hosted in...
